Your full moon ritual

HOW THE FULL MOON CAN HELP YOU RELEASE UNHELPFUL THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND BEHAVIOURS

A full moon is an exciting time. It is an opportunity to let go of everything that doesn’t serve you in a positive way. It’s a time to ‘release’ everything negative and unnecessary in your life. You can take onboard all or some of the ritual below – and you can always create your own special routine.

My full moon ritual involves:

  1. My favourite ritual on a full moon is to take a moment to watch the moon rise and reflect upon how amazing our world is. I sometimes reflect upon the moon with a hot tea in hand through winter or a glass of wine in summer
  2. I like to ask the children to get out their crystals and I gather mine – we place them in the light of the moon for the night. The moon cleanses the crystals while energising them. Some crystals can’t be exposed to sun and others can’t be exposed to any water. So on the wet evenings, I place the crystals in the light of the moon from a window. For the amethyst, I collect the crystals in the morning to stop it from losing the colour
  3. I take a moment to centre myself and with a blank piece of paper I write everything that isn’t serving me well and I choose to release. Some things you might like to write include: “I release unhealthy habits that no longer serve me”, “I release my anger, frustration and anxiety with …”, “I release worrying about things outside of my control”, “I release the financial challenges and burdens in the bank accounts”. This piece of paper can be folded and placed in a dedicated ‘moon box’. Some choose to burn the paper or bury it in the earth. Whatever you choose to do, the intent is to let go
  4. The full moon is a great time to pull out angel oracle cards. You can choose to do these as often as you want but there is something powerful about the full moon and the connection with the universe under the full moon
  5. Since the full moon is a night about ‘releasing’ and cleansing, a clearing around the home is helpful. Incense sticks like frankincense and sage are positive clearing scents. If you find sage too much for your nose, white sage is a beautiful alternative

The full moon is a powerful emotional time. I often find that I don’t sleep well on these nights because the vibrations and energy is so intense.
